Mark and his mentor, Mort Bernstein joined forces in April 1977 and started Ollies on July 29th, 1982.

Since being named President of Ollie's in 2003, the Company has grown from 27 stores to 139 stores operating in 13 states with over 3600 Associates.

• Named to the Board of Directors of the Kasey Kahne Foundation in May 2008. NASCAR Superstar Kasey Kahne's charitable foundation is dedicated to helping underprivileged children and their families.
• Named to the Board of Directors of the Cal Ripken Sr. Foundation in March 2009.
   
• The Cal Ripken Sr. Foundation helps to build character and teach critical life lessons to at-risk youth, through the use of baseball and softball-themed programs in America's most distressed communities. Mark currently sits on the Executive Committee and is also the Chairman of the Finance Committee.
